The Gilded Wristguards are light gauntlets with 7 base armor rating and a weight of just 0.5. They have no enchantment and a modest value. What makes them special is their owner: these are the gloves worn by Emperor Titus Mede II, so getting them is less about shopping and more about committing the crime of the era.
How to get it
The wristguards are aboard the Katariah, the Emperor’s ship, in his quarters. You can only get them during the Dark Brotherhood quest Hail Sithis!, when the Emperor himself is your contract.
- Follow the Dark Brotherhood questline until Hail Sithis!
- Board the Katariah and reach the Emperor’s quarters.
- Take the gloves after completing the contract.
If you choose to Destroy the Dark Brotherhood instead, the Emperor never becomes a target and the wristguards stay out of reach for good.
Is it worth wearing?
Purely as protection, no – they are roughly on par with entry-level light gloves and add no enchantment. In the base game they also cannot be tempered. Their value is as a trophy: few things say “I finished the Dark Brotherhood” quite like wearing the Emperor’s own gloves. They weigh next to nothing, so keeping them in your pack or on a display stand costs nothing.
Good to know
- According to players, they can look like different gloves on female characters in the inventory and may clip when sitting – cosmetic quirks only.
- A sibling piece of the Fine Armguards, the other unenchanted noble gloves.
