Anders was a Nord bandit and treasure hunter whose remains lie in the Twilight Sepulcher. Together with his partner Nystrom, he posed as a priest of Nocturnal to get his hands on the treasure supposedly hidden in Pilgrim’s Path.
Where to find them
His body is at the bottom of a pit inside the Sepulcher, at the spot tied to the last riddle of the trials.
Quests
You come across him in Darkness Returns while carrying the Skeleton Key back to its resting place. His remains hold Anders’s Message.
Personality & relationships
Greed did him in. Nystrom wheedled the secrets of Pilgrim’s Path out of a mentor at the Sepulcher, in the form of riddles, but Anders murdered him and dumped the body in the Sepulcher’s first room so he wouldn’t have to split the loot. He then solved his way to the last riddle, jumped into the pit – and couldn’t get out again. He starved down there. Thieves’ honour, Skyrim style.
Good to know
Anders and Nystrom are named after Anders Nyström, the Swedish guitarist who founded the metal band Katatonia.
