Snow-Shod Farm

Quiet wheat mill and farm south-southwest of Riften, kept by stewards Addvild and Leonara Arius, where crops can be sold toward becoming Thane.

Snow-Shod Farm is a wheat mill and farmstead south-southwest of Riften. It belongs to the Snow-Shod family, but they are not the ones getting their hands dirty: two stewards, Addvild and Leonara Arius, keep it running. Local guards patrol nearby, so it is one of the safer places in the area to stop and stretch your legs.

What you’ll find

  • Addvild and Leonara Arius, the farm’s stewards.
  • A wheat mill and a farmhouse with a cellar.
  • Fields of leeks, potatoes and wheat.
  • A cooking pot inside the farmhouse.
  • Guards patrolling the area.

Quests

Working toward becoming Thane in this part of Skyrim? Harvest the crops and sell them to Addvild. He only pays a little, but the sale counts as a favour for a local citizen, which is exactly what the Jarl is looking for.

Notable items

Tips

Don’t expect riches: the farmhouse holds little of value, and the main reasons to visit are the book, the easy Thane favour and a hot meal at the cooking pot. Do the harvest in one go, sell to Addvild, then read the book downstairs.

If you are passing on the way south from Riften, it is a handy breather before heading into the wilder country beyond.

Good to know

The farm’s owners never show up to work it, which is why the stewards are the ones you deal with. It is a gentle place: no bandits, no draugr, just leeks.
