The Dragonbone Dagger comes with the Dawnguard add-on and sits at the very top of Skyrim’s weapon tiers. With 12 base damage it ties the Blade of Woe for the highest dagger damage (ignoring the Blade’s enchantment), and it is faster too.
For stealth builds that live on sneak attack multipliers, this is about as good as a plain dagger gets. It matches Dragonplate Armor in theme.

Where to find
The source lists no fixed locations, so forging it yourself is the reliable route. You need Smithing 100, the Dragon Armor perk, a
Dragon Bone and a
Leather Strip. Dragon bones come from slain dragons.
Crafting and upgrading
Crafting at a forge: 1 ×
Dragon Bone, 1 ×
Leather Strips. Requires the Dragon Armor Smithing perk.
Improving at a grindstone: 1 ×
Dragon Bone. The Arcane Blacksmith perk doubles the improvement.

Tips and notes
- Tempered with a Dragon Bone; the Dragon Armor perk doubles the improvement.
- At 6.5 weight it is heavy for a dagger, but the damage more than makes up for it.
- A cheap recipe for a top-tier weapon: one bone and one strip.
