Hilund’s Spears is a Dragonborn miscellaneous quest at Thirsk Mead Hall on Solstheim. Once the Nords have their hall back, Hilund has an interior design idea: line the whole place with the little spears of the Rieklings who drove them out, as a permanent reminder never to grow soft again. She just needs a great many spears, and someone to fetch them.
How to start
- Complete Retaking Thirsk by siding with the Nords.
- Speak to Hilund at Thirsk Mead Hall and ask how the hunting is going.
- The quest cannot be started if you have completed The Chief of Thirsk Hall.
Walkthrough
Bring 50 Riekling spears to Hilund
Hilund admits she has been distracted from hunting by her project. She wants the spears to mock the hall’s former occupants and push the Nords to work and fight harder.
Riekling spears turn up wherever Rieklings live. Frossel is a good example, and Riekling camps across the island will add to your stock. Collect fifty, return to Hilund and tell her you have brought a lot of them. She takes the bundle, promises to get to work and pays you.
Give it a few days and the spears will be put on display outside Thirsk Mead Hall.
Rewards
Leveled gold:
- Level 1–9: 250 gold
- Level 10–19: 400 gold
- Level 20–29: 500 gold
- Level 30–39: 600 gold
- Level 40+: 750 gold
Tips and notes
- Pick up spears from every Riekling you kill while exploring Solstheim, and fifty will add up faster than you expect.
- Thirsk can only belong to one side. If the Rieklings keep the hall, this quest is off the table; if the Nords take it back, The Chief of Thirsk Hall fails instead.
- The quest is listed in the journal with a failed state, which applies if the Thirsk storyline goes the Rieklings’ way.
