Keeper Carcette is a Breton and the head of the Vigilants of Stendarr, a holy order devoted to Stendarr. She runs the order from the Hall of the Vigilant, south of Red Road Pass.
Where to find them
Carcette stays at the Hall of the Vigilant. She dresses like a fighting priestess: Apprentice Robes of Restoration, steel plate gauntlets and boots, and the Amulet of Stendarr that every Vigilant wears.
Services
Carcette is an Expert-level Restoration trainer, able to teach the skill up to 75. There’s a nasty catch: if your Restoration is already above 50, her dialogue breaks and she won’t offer training at all. There’s no known fix, so if you want her lessons, visit her early.
Personality & relationships
Apart from her own introduction and the training option, Carcette mostly says the same things as the other members of her order. Like them, she is devoted to Stendarr and to stamping out evil.
Good to know
- With Dawnguard installed, her story ends badly. Once you reach level 10 and the Dawnguard questline begins with your meeting with Durak, vampires raid the Hall of the Vigilant and Carcette is killed. A surviving Vigilant confirms her death (Dawnguard).
- Even after the Hall is destroyed, other Vigilants may still direct you there and talk about Carcette as if she were alive.
- Steal from the ruins and she may still send hired thugs after you, even though she’s dead.
