Predator’s Grace is a pair of unique light boots built for people who like to arrive unannounced. The enchantment combines a muffle effect, so your footsteps make no noise, with a small 1% boost to stamina regeneration. They weigh just 1, so they are basically free to carry.
How to get it
The boots are hidden at Deepwood Redoubt in the Reach, near the end of the dungeon around Hag’s End.
- Fight your way through the Forsworn ruins to the outdoor area by the altar near the entrance to Hag’s End.
- Look for a small waterfall with a climbable rocky slope beside it.
- Jump and scramble up to the plateau at the top, or use Whirlwind Sprint from the edge of the altar.
- Next to a locked chest of random loot you find the boots, plus a quicksilver ore vein.
Watch out for hagravens and Forsworn on the way.
Is it worth wearing?
For stealth characters, they are a lovely find. Muffle is one of the most useful sneak effects in the game, and having it on a pair of boots frees up your other slots for more damage or Sneak bonuses. The armor rating of 5 is tiny, though, and the stamina part is barely noticeable. The Thieves Guild and Nightingale boots give more protection, and you can always enchant your own boots with Muffle once you learn it, so many players disenchant these and move on.
The location is part of the appeal. Deepwood Redoubt is a winding Forsworn complex with sweeping views, and the climb up to the boots feels like a little secret reward for curious explorers. Pair them with a bow, a dark hood and some patience, and you have the start of a proper hunter-style build.
Good to know
- The boots are easy to miss because they sit above the main path.
- They can be tempered with an iron ingot.
- Disenchanting them is a convenient way to learn Muffle early.
