Alessandra’s Dagger

A priest of Arkay’s ceremonial dagger, carried to Whiterun’s Hall of the Dead in Pilgrimage.

Alessandra’s Dagger is a ceremonial blade of the priests of Arkay – and the centre of a small, quietly touching errand that starts in Riften.

Background

Priests of Arkay receive a ceremonial dagger when they finish their training, usually from the head priest who sanctified the ritual. For Alessandra, that head priest was her own father. She has since been given a new dagger and wants the old one laid with her father’s remains as a way of making peace.

The quest: Pilgrimage

Alessandra asks you to deliver the dagger to Andurs at the Hall of the Dead in Whiterun. (She says her father rests in Windhelm, but that’s a developer slip – the Hall of the Dead in Whiterun is the right place.)

As a weapon

5 damage – the same as a steel dagger – and a weight of just 1. It falls behind quickly once better daggers turn up.

A hidden perk

Because it’s a quest item, it can’t be taken from your inventory. Get thrown in jail while carrying it and you’ll still have a weapon.
