Trollsbane is a steel warhammer with one purpose in life: burning trolls. It’s found on the remains of the troll hunter who earned that name – and apparently lost the final round.
How to get it
Go to Cradle Stone Crag in the Reach, a troll den directly west of Cradle Stone Tower and east of Valthume. Two trolls are usually fighting outside. Inside, the hammer lies on the body of Frofnir Trollsbane.
Enchantment
Burns trolls for 15 points – including frost trolls and the Dawnguard’s armored trolls. Against anything else the enchantment is simply resisted, though the hammer still hits like a normal steel warhammer. It can’t be disenchanted, but it is boosted by the Augmented Flames perk.
Smithing
Steel Ingot with Arcane Blacksmith; benefits from Steel Smithing.
Worth it?
As a dedicated troll killer early on, sure – fire stops trolls regenerating. As a general weapon, any better warhammer will do more.
