Grimsever is the glass sword of Mjoll the Lioness, lost when a Dwemer colossus nearly killed her. Bring it back and you gain one of Riften’s best followers.
How to get it
Talk to Mjoll in Riften to start “Grimsever’s Return”. The sword lies at the very end of Mzinchaleft Gatehouse, behind the spot where the Dwarven Centurion starts, next to a blood splatter where Mjoll fell. It only appears once you’re level 14 or higher.
Keeping it
As a quest item it can’t be sold or dropped. Give it to Mjoll to finish the quest; once she’s your follower you can take it back through her inventory, and it becomes an ordinary item. Its enchantment resets when you do.
Stats and enchantment
Statistically it’s a Glass Sword: 12 damage, 14 weight. On top of that it deals 15 points of frost damage to health and stamina.
Smithing
Refined Malachite with Arcane Blacksmith; benefits from Glass Smithing.
Tip
While it’s still a quest item it can’t be knocked out of your hands, which makes it useful against draugr who love the Disarm shout.
