Soulrender is the second of Haknir Death-Brand’s cursed scimitars in the Dragonborn add-on. Wielded together with Bloodscythe, it feeds on magicka instead of blood.
How to get it
It lies by the skeletal remains of Haknir Death-Brand in Gyldenhul Barrow at the end of “Deathbrand”. An Ancient Nordic Pickaxe is needed to break the stalhrim at the entrance.
Enchantment
When dual-wielded with Bloodscythe: absorbs 15 magicka and has a chance to lower the target’s magical defenses. On its own, the enchantment does nothing – yet it still loses charge.
Using the pair
Light-armor fighters love the combo with the Deathbrand Armor, which raises one-handed damage up to 40% when dual-wielding and adds armor to make up for not carrying a shield.
Smithing
Ebony Ingot; benefits from Daedric Smithing.
Known quirk: Soulrender fits on weapon racks while Bloodscythe sometimes doesn’t – handy to know when you’re decorating your house.
