Joining the Legion

Joining the Legion in Skyrim: clear Fort Hraggstad of bandits for Legate Rikke and take the oath with General Tullius. Walkthrough and reward.

Objectives

  1. Clear out Fort Hraggstad
  2. Report to Legate Rikke
  3. Take the oath

Joining the Legion is how you sign up with the Imperial Legion in Skyrim’s civil war. Hadvar suggests it after Helgen, but you can go straight to Castle Dour in Solitude.

Walkthrough

Legate Rikke wants proof that you can fight. Head to Fort Hraggstad, northwest of Solitude, and clear out the bandits who’ve taken it over. Report back to Rikke, then take the oath before General Tullius.

Reward

A set of Imperial armor – light, medium (Imperial) or heavy – of your choice.

Good to know

Joining a side doesn’t lock you in straight away – but once the Battle for Whiterun is over, there’s no switching.
