The Only Cure

The Only Cure: bring Kesh the Clean four offerings, talk to Peryite and kill his wayward champion Orchendor for the Spellbreaker shield.

  4. Obtain a silver ingot
  5. Obtain a flawless ruby
  6. Deliver the ingredients
  7. Inhale the fumes
  8. Kill Orchendor
  9. Report Orchendor's death to Peryite

The Only Cure is Peryite’s Daedric quest. The Prince of pestilence is unhappy with his followers – and wants you to do something about it.

How to start

Meet one of the Afflicted in a random encounter (level 10+), or approach Kesh the Clean at the Shrine to Peryite near Karthwasten in the Reach (level 12+).

Walkthrough

Kesh needs four offerings before you can speak to Peryite: a silver ingot, a deathbell flower, some vampire dust and a flawless ruby. Hand them over and inhale the fumes. Peryite appears – fittingly as a swarm of skeevers – and sends you to Bthardamz to kill Orchendor, the champion who has led the Afflicted astray. Report back to receive Spellbreaker.

Tip

The flawless ruby is usually the hardest part. The College of Winterhold’s Hall of Countenance is one place to look, and merchants sometimes sell them.
