Farkas is one of the most formidable warriors of the Companions and a member of The Circle in Whiterun. He is big, loyal and friendly – the gentle giant of Jorrvaskr – and, like the rest of The Circle, secretly a werewolf.
How to recruit Farkas
Farkas becomes a follower after you complete “Glory of the Dead”, the final quest of the main Companions questline. Before that, he often acts as your shield-brother during Companions quests.
As a follower
Farkas is a solid frontline tank in heavy armor, levelling with you up to level 50. He is a dependable choice if you want someone to soak up hits while you fight with magic or a bow.
Training, marriage and more
- Trainer: master-level Heavy Armor training.
- Marriage: yes – after the Companions questline.
- Blades: can be recruited into the Blades.
Background
Farkas and his twin brother Vilkas were rescued from a group of necromancers as children by a Companion named Jergen, who raised them in Jorrvaskr.
