Argonian Bloodwine

A pricey Hearthfire wine that guards against poison and lets you breathe underwater, at the cost of slower Stamina recovery.

Argonian Bloodwine is a bottled wine added by the Hearthfire expansion (Hearthfire). It has a base value of 100 gold, and its effects lean toward the marsh-dwelling people it is named after: a drink that helps you shrug off poison and stay under the surface for a while.

Effects

Drinking a bottle applies three effects at once:

  • Resist 40% of poison for 50 seconds.
  • Breathe underwater for 50 seconds.
  • Stamina regenerates 30% slower for 30 seconds.

The drawback is short and only touches regeneration, so it matters most if you plan to sprint or power attack right after drinking. The two positive effects last a little longer than the penalty, which makes the bottle a handy emergency option before a dive or a fight against poison-heavy enemies, even if a dedicated cure poison potion deals with poison that has already landed.

Where to find it

No cooking or baking recipe produces Argonian Bloodwine, so it cannot be crafted at a cooking pot or oven. Every bottle has to be found or acquired in the world rather than made.

Good to know

At 0.5 weight and 100 gold, a bottle carries a lot of value for its weight compared with ordinary Wine or Alto Wine, so selling spare bottles is a reasonable choice if you have no use for the effects.

Where to find it

  • Cannot be cooked or baked; found in the world (Hearthfire).
