Baked Potatoes

Baked Potatoes are a cheap, light food in Skyrim that restore 5 Health, a simple snack with no lasting effects.

Baked Potatoes are one of the humblest meals in Skyrim: a portion of oven-cooked potatoes worth just 2 gold and weighing almost nothing. They are a ready-made dish rather than something the player prepares, and they sit alongside the raw potatoes and other vegetables that feed the cooking system.

Effects

Eating Baked Potatoes restores 5 Health instantly. There is no regeneration over time and no side effect, so they work as a quick top-up rather than real healing. For comparison, the Cooking guide notes that most home-cooked food in Skyrim heals somewhere between five and ten points, which puts this dish at the low end of that range and below even a minor Restore Health potion.

Where to find it

Baked Potatoes are not part of any quest and have no cooking or oven recipe, so the only way to get them is to pick them up as ready-made food in the world. Their very low weight makes it painless to carry a stack of them as emergency snacks.

Good to know

If you want potato-based food that does more, cook a Potato Soup or a Vegetable Soup instead, or bake Potato Bread with Hearthfire installed.
