The Haggling family is a merchant’s best friend. Drinking one of these potions makes every trade a little kinder to your purse for 30 seconds, with prices shifting in your favour by anywhere from 10 to 25 percent depending on the tier. That window is short, so the trick is to open the trade menu right after drinking and sell your most expensive loot, such as enchanted weapons or heavy armor, while the effect lasts. Players who rely on trading to fund training, houses or rare gear get the most out of them.

Where to find them
Like most stock potions in Skyrim, these bottles turn up as loot in the world and in the inventories of characters, and vendors that deal in potions can have them for sale. The family is leveled, so the weaker versions dominate early on and the stronger Philters and Elixirs become more common as the Dragonborn gains levels.
Brewing your own
You can mix your own Haggling potions with the Alchemy skill. Four ingredients carry the Fortify Barter effect: Butterfly Wing, Dragon’s Tongue, Hagraven Claw and Tundra Cotton. Any two of them combined at an alchemy lab will produce a Fortify Barter potion, and since the effect only has to be active while you trade, even a modest home-brew is worth carrying.
Tips
Drink the potion inside the shop, not on the way there: 30 seconds disappears quickly. If you want to keep stacking gold, pair these with the Glibness potions for a full speech-focused kit.
