Large Dwemer Plate Metal is a sizeable chunk of Dwarven plating that, oddly enough, weighs only 2 and is worth 15 gold, exactly like its smaller cousin. At a smelter it becomes a
Dwarven Metal Ingot, the metal behind Dwarven Armor and Dwarven weapons (Dwarven Smithing perk). If you are building a Dwarven set, this is the sort of scrap you want to fill your pockets with.
How to get it
You find it lying around in Dwemer ruins. The Nchuand-Zel ruins under Markarth are the single best spot, with 12 pieces in the Quarters and 9 more in the Control and Armory sections. Mzulft is close behind with 10 in the Aedrome, 9 in the main ruin and 7 in the Boilery.
Back in Markarth, Calcelmo‘s Laboratory holds 7 pieces and the Dwemer Museum 10 across its rooms, though the guards will not appreciate you redecorating. The Animonculory in Alftand has 4 more. Falmer sometimes carry plate metal too, so check their bodies after a fight. Clearing a whole ruin in one trip easily yields enough for a full Dwarven set.
