Bent Dwemer Scrap Metal is exactly what it sounds like: a mangled bit of ancient Dwarven machinery. It is worth 15 gold and weighs 2, so it is not a great sell on its own, but at a smelter it becomes a
Dwarven Metal Ingot, the key material for Dwarven Armor and weapons (Dwarven Smithing perk). Every Dwemer ruin you clear is basically a scrapyard waiting to be looted.
How to get it
This scrap is not mined; it lies around in Dwemer ruins. The best haul is in Markarth: Calcelmo‘s Laboratory has 12 pieces, and the Dwemer Museum in his tower holds 11 more between its rooms, but stealing from a museum in a city full of guards takes some sneaking. Below the city, the Nchuand-Zel Quarters have 11 pieces and the Control and Armory sections add 9 more.
Outside Markarth, Mzulft is a great source, with 6 in the Aedrome, 6 in the Dwarven Storeroom and 4 in the Boilery. Alftand‘s ruined tower has 5 more. Falmer sometimes carry scrap too, which is fitting since they live in these ruins now.
