Summerset Shadows Armor

Summerset Shadows Armor is the uniform of the Summerset Shadows, a group of thieves from Summerset Isle trying to muscle in on the Thieves Guild‘s turf. The set has four light armor pieces: a hood, cuirass, gloves and boots. None of them is enchanted, so this is a practical outfit rather than a magical one.

How to get it

Only members of the gang wear this armor, which in practice means you get it during the Thieves Guild city quest in Windhelm:

1. Finish five small jobs in Windhelm for Delvin Mallory, which unlocks the Summerset Shadows quest.
2. Talk to Torsten Cruel-Sea, whose daughter was robbed of a silver locket.
3. Get information out of Niranye, by persuasion, intimidation or leverage.
4. Raid Uttering Hills Cave, the gang’s hideout. The Summerset Shadow enemies there wear the set, so loot as you go.

Is it worth wearing?

The full set gives a total armor rating of 58 at a weight of 12, all of it tempered with Leather. That puts it roughly on par with mid-tier light armor. With no enchantments, it is mainly a cosmetic option or a base for your own enchanting. Thieves who want real bonuses should look at the Thieves Guild Armor or the Nightingale Armor instead.

• The gang’s leader wears a different, unique outfit: Linwe’s Armor.
• The hood’s name in the game data is the placeholder-style “SummersetShadowsHood”.
• Each piece comes from leveled lists worn by Summerset Shadow enemies, so drops can vary.
