Queen Freydis’s Sword is a legendary steel sword that a blacksmith in Windhelm wants to give to Ulfric Stormcloak.
The quest
Oengul War-Anvil, Windhelm’s blacksmith, asks you to find the sword so he can present it to Ulfric. It’s hidden in a random cave in Eastmarch:
- Ansilvund
- Cronvangr Cave (listed as Cronvangr Hall)
- Cragwallow Slope
- Lost Knife Hideout
- Stony Creek Cave
- Uttering Hills Cave (listed as Uttering Hills Camp)
When you hand it over, Oengul teaches you some smithing techniques (a free Smithing boost, unless you’re already at 100).
Keeping it
Despite his plans for Ulfric, Oengul keeps the sword. You can buy it back from him at any time – or find it displayed on a shelf on the upper floor of the Blacksmith Quarters.
Stats
8 damage, 10 weight – a steel sword in all but name. Steel Ingot; benefits from Steel Smithing.
