Kahvozein’s Fang is an ancient Dragon Cult dagger with one special talent: it’s sharp enough to carve the heartscales from a dead dragon.
History
Tolfdir tells of a dagger named after the dragon Kahvozein, worshipped by a Dragon Cult sect fond of ritual sacrifice. The high priest kept it so sharp it was always ready for its next victim.
How to get it
The dagger is placed in a Nordic tomb with a dragon priest. Possible spots include:
- Forelhost Refectory, after Rahgot
- High Gate Ruins, after Vokun (during “A Scroll for Anska”)
- Labyrinthian, after Morokei
- Ragnvald, after Otar the Mad
- Valthume, in the chest by the word wall where Hevnoraak is found
- Volskygge, in a chest by the last draugr boss’s throne
The heartscale quest
Once your Alteration reaches 90, ask Tolfdir if he can teach you more. That starts the “Alteration Ritual Spell” quest, where he needs dragon heartscales. Only this dagger can collect them – wield it in your right hand and activate a dragon corpse. Until the quest is done, the dagger can’t be dropped or stored (a weapon rack works) and weighs nothing.
Stats
6 damage, 5 weight. Not a weapon you fight with, but you can keep using it to harvest heartscales afterwards.
