The Bow of the Hunt is a unique hunting bow that hits animals much harder – early-game gold for anyone who lives off pelts and meat.
How to get it
It lies on the altar at the back of the cave at Clearspring Tarn.
Enchantment
Animals take 20 points of extra damage – and “animals” includes insects and trolls. It can’t be disenchanted, and Fortify Destruction potions don’t boost it.
Unlike most enchanted weapons, the bow doesn’t glow.
Smithing
Unlike the normal hunting bow (a leather strip), the Bow of the Hunt is improved with a Steel Ingot and benefits from Steel Smithing.
Worth it?
Against animals at low level it outperforms better-quality bows, since the bonus is hard to copy without exploits. Later, you’ll want something stronger.
