Bolar is an Orc and the oldest member of the stronghold of Narzulbur, which earns her a reputation as its wisest. She is the aunt of Chief Mauhulakh and acts as a kind of spiritual leader, guiding her kin on what pleases Malacath and reading the future in animal entrails.

Her workshop is just outside Mauhulakh’s Longhouse, with an alchemy lab and a tanning rack.

Personality & relationships
Ask her about her people and she explains the Orc way: everyone works for the tribe, only the bravest lead and marry, and wise women like her are the mothers of chieftains. She describes Malacath as the creator of the Orcs who expects every word to be honoured with action.
She and Yatul dote on Mauhulakh, and she helped raise his children, Dushnamub and Urog, after their mother died. Listen in on her talks with Yatul, though, and things get dark. Mauhulakh’s wives keep dying, and Yatul speaks of “taking care of” any new bride before she reaches the stronghold. Bolar is the more reluctant of the two: she refuses to harm a woman who is already with child, and that’s why Dushnamub and Urog exist at all. Dushnamub has noticed that something is off and finds it strange that a midwife could lose so many mothers.
Good to know
She shares her name with a Blades member, Acilius Bolar, though the two have nothing to do with each other.
