The Visage of Mzund is a unique heavy helmet built in the Dwarven style (Dragonborn). With an armor rating of 24 and a weight of 12, it is sturdy brass headgear, and its enchantment raises your Stamina by 60 points. According to UESP it also grants a power called the Breath of Nchuak, a steam attack that costs Stamina to use.
How to get it
The helmet waits in Fahlbtharz, a Dwarven ruin on Solstheim. Make your way to the Fahlbtharz Grand Hall and look for its treasure room, where the Visage is placed. Expect the usual Dwarven welcome committee of automatons and traps on the way. Bring healing and patience.
Is it worth wearing?
Fortify Stamina is a rare enchantment on headwear; UESP notes that this is one of only two headpieces that carry it. Sixty extra Stamina means more power attacks, more sprinting and more bashing, which is great for melee builds. The steam power is a fun extra, and UESP mentions that enemies killed by it can get launched into the air.
Next to a Dragon Priest mask such as Miraak’s mask, the Visage is a more down-to-earth choice: no magic boosts, but a solid physical buff. If you already wear Dwarven Armor, it slots straight into the look.
Good to know
- It can be tempered with
Dwarven Metal Ingots. - According to UESP, the Ancient Knowledge bonus does not apply to it.
- Only one copy exists, in the Fahlbtharz Grand Hall.
