The Dawnguard Rune Axe is a vampire hunter’s dream from the Dawnguard add-on: a war axe whose sun damage grows with every undead it destroys.

How to get it

Florentius Baenius sends you after it in the Dawnguard side quest “Lost Relic”, which uses a random location. If you joined the Volkihar Clan instead, you can’t get it normally.

Enchantment

Deals 10 + n sun damage to undead, where n is the number of undead you’ve killed with it. The power caps at 100 after a hundred kills.

Florentius warns that the charge fades with each dawn, but in practice the power never resets.
Tempering it at a grindstone doesn’t reset the count.
Conjured undead such as Bonemen count, so you can farm it.

11 damage, 13 weight.
