The Lunar Iron War Axe is a leveled Iron war axe from the Lunar Forge – a cheap early weapon with a fiery twist after dark.
The Lunar weapons come from the ancient Lunar Forge in Silent Moons Camp in Whiterun Hold. According to the notes there, the forge only works under direct moonlight – though actually crafting Lunar weapons yourself was never added to the game.
How to get it
It lies near the Lunar Forge at Silent Moons Camp, available from level 2.
The Silent Moons Enchant
While the moons are out, the weapon burns the target. Lunar weapons are the only items you can disenchant to learn the Silent Moons Enchant – useful if you want night-time fire damage on a better weapon.
Leveled stats
The fire damage depends on your level when you pick it up: 10 points at first, rising to 20 points from level 6. Damage stays at 8, weight 11.
Smithing
Improve it with Iron Ingot (Arcane Blacksmith required); it doesn’t benefit from any Smithing perk.
