To Kill an Empire in Skyrim: disguise yourself as the Gourmet, cook the Potage le Magnifique and serve the Emperor a meal to die for in Castle Dour.

To Kill an Empire is the Dark Brotherhood’s big set piece. Using a Writ of Passage, you slip into Castle Dour in Solitude disguised as the famous chef known as the Gourmet – who is cooking for Emperor Titus Mede II.

Walkthrough

Report to Astrid, then present yourself at Castle Dour to Commander Maro of the Penitus Oculatus. The cook Gianna takes you to the kitchen – put on the chef’s hat – where you prepare the Potage le Magnifique for the Emperor. Add the special ingredient Astrid gave you, or a few extra ones of your own. Follow Gianna to the dining room and serve the meal… Then escape from the tower and return to the Sanctuary.

Good to know

Not everything about this contract is quite what it seems. The next quest, Death Incarnate, picks up right where this one ends.
