The Black Star is the darker version of Azura’s Star: a reusable soul gem that can also hold black souls – the souls of people. For serious enchanters it’s arguably the better choice.
How to get it
In “The Black Star”, bring the broken star to the mage Nelacar instead of Azura’s priestess Aranea. After you deal with the necromancer Malyn Varen’s soul trapped inside it, you get the Black Star.
What it does
A reusable black soul gem. Black souls (people) are always grand, and it can hold white souls too – one soul at a time.

Reward for "The Black Star" if you bring the broken star to Nelacar.
