Meeko is a dog you can find wandering near Meeko’s Shack, a small lonely cabin in the Skyrim wilderness. His owner is nowhere to be seen any more – and Meeko is very glad to have someone new to follow.
How to recruit Meeko
Find Meeko’s Shack and talk to Meeko. He will follow you right away – no quest, no fee, just a very good boy looking for a friend.
As a follower
Like all dogs, Meeko fights by biting your enemies and can find himself in trouble against tougher foes. He does not carry items for you. What he lacks in combat power, he makes up for in loyalty and charm.
Good to know
- Dogs count as animal companions, so in the base game you can have a dog and a regular follower travelling with you at the same time.
- With the Hearthfire add-on, you can send Meeko to live at one of your homes.
- Take a look inside the shack – it hints at what happened to Meeko’s previous owner.
