Delphine

Delphine runs the Sleeping Giant Inn in Riverwood – but she is secretly one of the last members of the Blades, hunting the truth behind the return of the dragons.

At first glance Delphine is just the innkeeper of the Sleeping Giant Inn in Riverwood, running the place with Orgnar. Look a little closer and you will find a Breton with a very sharp sword, a very guarded attitude and a secret: she is one of the last surviving members of the Blades, the ancient order of dragonslayers who once served the Dragonborn emperors.

The hooded woman

Delphine first crosses your path in Dragonsreach, where she is the mysterious hooded contact working with Farengar Secret-Fire on the Dragonstone you recover in Bleak Falls Barrow. She is clearly interested in dragons for reasons she is not ready to share.

A Blade in hiding

After the Great War, the Thalmor hunted the Blades almost to extinction, and Delphine survived by staying hidden – and by hitting back at the Thalmor whenever she could. When she learns you are Dragonborn, she finally reveals who she is in the quest “A Blade in the Dark,” and from there she becomes one of the key characters of the main quest.

Acting Grandmaster

As the story moves on, Delphine works to rebuild the Blades and becomes their acting Grandmaster at Sky Haven Temple in The Reach. There you can recruit followers – such as Lydia – into the order. She is also known for her very firm opinion about Paarthurnax, which leads to one of the main quest’s most debated choices.

Services

Before she leaves Riverwood behind, Delphine works as the innkeeper of the Sleeping Giant Inn, where you can rent a room and buy food and drink.
